About Gotta Fish

Whether you're on a guide trip with Gotta Fish or a scenic ride, there are numerous views of animal life and amazing scenery. Some of the wildlife that can be seen on our routes include: Deer, elk, beaver, mink, weasels, a Great blue herrin, canadien geese, ducks of many species, merganzers, or even an osprey diving into the river for what fish you don't catch. Also, don't for get to look upstream as we float because the view is spectacular and many people who visit forget to look where they floated from; one great place to another.

Scott, your guide, had his first experience on the McKenzie in 1969 with 'Mac' McMullin, who was the best of friends with Scott's dad and grandfather since the late 1920's.

Scott's Grandfather Ben E Parsons was vice president of General Petroleum through the 20's, 30's, and 40's. He was also friends with President Herbert hoover and would fish with Mac and Scott's father Ben F Parsons. they would stay with the Tuttles at the Log Cabin Inn, who were also good friends with Ben E Parsons.

Every summer Scott's dad Ben F Parsons would take business trips to Oregon(he worked at McCulloch). Once Scott was old enough to sit still in a boat(1969) they would all fish with Mac for several days at a time.

Scott's father and grandfather are fishing elsewhere now but the tradition lives on; Scott and his son Ben W Parsons are the third and fourth generation of their family to fish on this river.

Scott builds his own guide boats from scratch from original plans. His father taught him to work with wood and how to fish. he would be proud. Let Scott share some time with you on the beautiful McKenzie; you will catch memories that will last a lifetime.
