You'll get a grade 'A' trip for a reasonable price on the beautiful McKenzie river.
How much are guide trips?
Guided fishing trips are $175 for one person and $275 for two people. 1/2 day Trips are 5-6 hours long.
Is there money due up front?
Yes. A $100 deposit is required to reserve a trip. The difference is paid after the trip. Go to the Rates & Services page for more information.
Is tackle provided?
Yes. If required rod, reel, and tackle is provided for anyone who didn't bring their own rig free of charge, but see below.
Is there a charge for provided lures and/or flies?
Yes. after more than two lures and/or flies are lost, the amount equivilent to the cost of the lost equipment will be added to the trip total to be paid after the trip.
When is the best time of year? Week? Day?
The best time of year for trout fishing on the McKenzie is May through September, though some years April and October can be good fishing as well. The fishing is the same to a point during the week, the main variable being traffic. The best time to go, if possible, is in the middle of the week to avoid traffic on the river. As far as time of day, the better time to go is consistently in the evening, though the morning is still very good fishing.
Are scenic trips available?
Yes. Scenic trips are available all year, including the fishing season. Scenic trips are $125 per person.
What if I want to fish, but who I'm riding with doesn't?
If you want to book a trip for two with only one person fishing, that's fine. The cost will be $175 for the person fishing, plus $75 for the person that isn't. So, you'll notice a scenic trip for two is the same as one person fishing and one not.
If I'm catching a lot of fish, can we stay on the river longer?
Yes. However an additional charge of $20 per half hour will be added to your trip total. Also keep in mind you can only keep 5 non-native fish per day.

How early should I make a reservation?
Trips should be reserved as early as possible, especially for a spot during the season. For most other trips, a year in advance is plenty of time. However, if a spot is open, a trip can be reserved within 12 hours of a desired time.
